TRACE BUNDY INTERVIEW #1
(Originally aired on May 24, 2012)
Acoustic guitarist Trace Bundy uses radical fretting techniques, altered tunings, percussive effects, and multiple capos to create melodic, memorable compositions. Bundy represents a new breed of musician - one who reaches fans directly through viral videos, bypassing the traditional music business machinery. Independently, he has sold over 70,000 albums and racked up more than 25 million YouTube views. In 2008, Acoustic Guitar gave Bundy their "Most Promising New Talent" award, and he regularly performs sold-out shows across the US and in some two dozen countries. His fans have dubbed him the "Acoustic Ninja" for his uncanny ability to juggle ringing melodies, percussion, bass lines, driving chordal rhythms, shimmering harmonics, and more.
In our exclusive interview, Bundy explains how he recorded his 2012 album, Elephant King, and details his creative process. We'll hear selections from Elephant King throughout the feature.
