CAREER COUNSELING and "CAREER AUDIT"
Career and business counseling can take on many forms.
It might be a one-time session to answer one or more of your questions about your career. It may be continuing counsel on various aspects of your ongoing goals. It may be a contractual relationship to satisfy one or more of your career needs. It could be purely to handle your business needs, help start your company, negotiate your band's partnership agreement or wade through financial issues. It could be a one-time session to figure out if you should pursue a career in music and, if so, how to get started. Or it could be a formal, fixed-length contractual relationship for career and/or business management services.
Whatever form our relationship takes, rest assured that Crush Worldwide will give you the best possible advice and services from people that have been there with many years of experience in the field helping seasoned professionals, newcomers and those looking to resurrect a stalled career. If we can't provide a service in-house, we'll put you in contact with a professional who can.
Your initial meeting, with partner John Haring, is a one hour counseling session in the Nashville area and costs $129.00. Sessions can be scheduled outside of Nashville, but extra fees will apply depending on travel. Sessions can also be done on the phone or via Skype. In that initial session, we'll talk about all aspects of your career and answer any music business and general business questions that you may have. If you're a working artist, songwriter or musician, the session will be a "Career Audit" and we'll map out a strategy to move you to the next level. If you're new to the music business, we'll do a "Career StartUp" and talk about how to go about establishing yourself and moving forward, sort of a "Music Business 101." Either way, you'll come out of the session with a checklist for taking the next steps in your music career.
After the initial session, future consultations are $75.00 for a half-hour and $120.00 per hour for longer meetings. The same rates apply for continuing, open-ended services, unless negotiated otherwise for longer-term projects. Certain services are quoted on a fixed cost basis.
You may also choose to set up a Monthly Retainer Agreement at a fixed rate per month for a fixed number of guaranteed hours (at a discounted hourly rate). If you think you're going to need regular career advice and help over an extended period of time with things such as career and business advice, career strategy, third party negotiations, co-write scheduling and/or promotion, this is a much more cost-effective plan.
Full-time working musicians may also be offered a traditional, multi-year Management Contract based on current touring status and career potential.
