In this Guest Interviewer segment, we'll hear an excerpt from a 2003 interview with Mike Campbell — who's best known as the lead guitarist with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers — conducted by Matt Blackett, former Associate Editor at Guitar Player magazine. In Blackett's interview, Campbell talks about recording American VI: Ain’t No Grave, the final album from Johnny Cash. Campbell joined producer Rick Rubin and fellow guitarists Smokey Hormel, Jonny Polonsky and Matt Sweeney to complete the music Cash had begun before his death.
