BRYAN CLARK INTERVIEW #2
(Originally aired on April 5, 2012)
Ace multi-instrumentalist Bryan Clark plays guitar, Dobro, keyboards, steel, bass and percussion, and is also a gifted songwriter and arranger, a skilled recording engineer, and adventurous Nashville producer. His musical palette encompasses jazz, bluegrass, rock, orchestral strings, and Texas swing, and his lyrics reflect a deep affinity for poetry and literature.
Clark's 2012 album, Southern Intermission, is a swampy, rockin' tribute to the classic sounds of Sun, Stax, and Muscle Shoals. Recorded with his band The New Lyceum Players — which features Adam Fluhrer on second lead guitar — Southern Intermission explores the grooves, myths, and magic of the South. In our exclusive interview, Clark and Fluhrer describe recording their intertwined guitar parts, reveal their inspirations, and detail their guitars and gear.
